Honeywell, the designer of the first Round thermostat in 1953, has released a new Smart Thermostat. The new Lyric thermostat revolutionizes our understanding of smart heating controls. Lyric uses a combination of shortcuts (modes), external conditions like humidity and outdoor weather, and geofencing that uses your smartphone to know if you are home, away, or on the way home for truly smart, hands-off functionality instead of rigid schedules or attempting to guess your home and away from patterns.
Lyric is meant to be attractive, simple to use, and even simple to install, with iOs and Android smartphone setup and installation videos right on your phone.
As you approach, a built-in motion sensor activates the display, and the cool outer ring rotates to alter settings. You can even use the thermostat to monitor the weather. The rear of the thermostat lights to show whether it is in heat or cool mode.
With a simple and easy interface, you can check on the settings, alter them, and control them all from your iOS or Android mobile.
It's not cheap, but it's fantastic... and it can help pay for itself.
